Hot Weather and Sun Safety at School

Good morning Keating Community,

The next few days at school look to be very hot - here are some tips, as we acknowledge the importance of sun protection and preparing for hot weather:

1 Please send your child to school wearing loose fitting / summer clothing, sunscreen, a hat, and a refillable water bottle. You may also wish to consider providing your child with sunglasses.

2 With our staggered recesses, we encourage the children to seek out shade around our grounds. During instructional time, where possible, outdoor activities longer than a short duration will take place in the shade and outside of the hot afternoon time period.

3 Indoors, we will use our extensive window coverings, keep lighting to a minimum, and promote ventilation during the cooler early mornings.

Please support your child by having a conversation with them about the importance of sun and hot weather safety.

Respectfully,

Philip Jungen
