Some Reminders for Start Up

Hello all,

We are excited to get to see our returning grade 1 to 5 students tomorrow (Tuesday).  I did want to send out a quick note to let people know that although we do not have a cohort system in place this year, some measures that we will continue to rely upon are masks indoors for adults and grade 4-5 students (and as an option for families who would prefer their K-3 students to wear them), hand hygiene (lots of washing and sanitizing again), and avoiding crowding where possible.  To aid with the crowding issue, it would be appreciated if as much as possible pick up and drop off were done from the perimeter of the school grounds.  We know that new students, and a few others may need a bit of extra guidance as they learn the lay of the land on the first couple days.

Health checks are to continue to be done at home, and students and staff are to stay away from school if they do not pass these checks.

There is a slight change from last year for parents/guardians who need to enter the building.  Last year we asked that you phone the office upon arrival and we would help you from there.  That is still an option, but you may now enter the school by the front door near the flag poles and check in at the office if you have a need.  Parents/guardians need to stop at the office, sign in, and wait there while we help you.  Please do keep in mind that masks are required for adults entering the building.

We look forward to welcoming parents/guardians back into our school as regulations allow later in the year for volunteer opportunities, but we continue to move cautiously and with everyone's safety in mind in this respect.

Thanks for your support and teamwork on these points.

Sincerely,
Steve
