I would like to start by thanking Mme. VanderDonck for her work in organizing this week’s Carnaval activities.  It was an energetic, and fun week full of school spirit.  Thanks to you as parents/guardians who were helping children to arrive with various themed outfits, blocks of ice, etc… A few pictures have been shared via the school’s Twitter account.

As many of you will know, we have received word from government of “loosened” COVID restrictions.  This returns us to expectations similar to those we had in December.  As a refresher, this means that…

  • Volunteers are again able to come into the school when invited by staff for specific purposes (please make sure you have your Criminal Record Checks on file with the district)
  • In-person meetings can again be held in the school
  • No change to expectations around health checks or mask wearing at this time
  • You no longer need to phone the office from outside the building when picking up a child mid-day, but may come in the main entrance by the flagpoles and check in at the office and staff will assist you from there

We hope that this is just the first in a series of reduced restrictions reflective of an improving situation with regard to the pandemic.

Please be reminded that Thursday, March 3rd is an early-dismissal day (1:48).

Thanks to all who have been supporting the school wide reading initiative and joining in with evening reading routines.  We are looking forward to seeing the first additions to the reading thermometer in the coming week or two.

I hope all in our Keating community enjoy a great final weekend in February.
